Abstract

Objective: To analyze the pedagogical practices usually employed by the teaching nurse to overcome the traditional teaching model. Methods: This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, developed at a federal public university in the city of Teresina-PI. The subjects of the research were 12 teaching nurses full of theoretical subjects. Data were collected through a semistructured interview between February and April 2018, after authorization from the Research Ethics Committee. Results: After analyzing the speeches of the interviewees, the interruption with the resources used in the traditional teaching model was identified. Part of the speeches evidenced the search for dialogue during the classes as a form of student-teacher interaction, the use of stimulating methodologies to the critical reflection of the contents and the organization and planning of the actions implemented in the classroom. Conclusion: It can be seen through the speeches the supplanting of the traditional teaching model, with the use of resources that build active teaching and facilitates the development of pedagogical practices by the nurse.
