Abstract

Objective: To compare the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the pharmacological treatment of patent ductus arteriosus. Methods: It is an integrative review, carried out in indexed journals on PubMed’s database. The search strategy was performed using the following descriptors: “Anti-Inflammatory Agents”, “Ductus Arteriosus, Patent” AND “Drug Therapy”. Results: While using all the descriptors, 972 publications were found. Of these, 758 that present the full text on-line were selected, 132 related to the year of publication (between 2010 and 2020) and to the human species. After a screening selection of  the titles and abstracts, only 9 articles were elegible. Final Consideration: Thus, it is necessary for the doctor to know the best pharmacological treatment, since these can bring serious side effects in addition to the possibility of varying their effectiveness according to some parameters. This shows the importance of this topic and the need for further studies that can determine the best drug for the treatment of the disease.
