Abstract
Objective: To describe the sociodemographic profile, aspect and outcome of the treatment of cervical cancer cases in the State of Sergipe between the years 2009 to 2018. Methods: This is a descriptive ecological study, with a retrospective survey in the SisRHC/Sergipe cluster data . Results: From the collection of information from the database of the Hospital Cancer Registry - RHC, 1887 cases of cervical cancer were registered in Sergipe during the year 2009 to 2018. The average of this type of cancer among women investigated was 51.3 years. Regarding social and demographic aspects, 2% are white, 6% are illiterate and 30.1% are single. Regarding aspects of diagnosis, 89% (1672) were directed by the SUS, and 98.8% (1802) performed the histological investigation of the primary tumor. As for treatment, 37.1% had radiotherapy as their first treatment protocol and 19.8% chemotherapy. Conclusion: A possible advanced staging of the cases registered between 2009 and 2018 is inferred. Such consideration is due to the possible delay in accessing the high complexity service in that state. This is a relatively young population in the time interval examined which may be related to extemporaneous sexarche.
