Abstract
Objective: To report and discuss the thromboembolic manifestations resulting from Covid-19 infection, in particular, acute coronary syndrome, emphasizing the importance of investigation, more effective treatment and prevention of the condition, to reduce the risk of clinical condition aggravation. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee. Case details: Young, 36 years old, without comorbidities, cursing with typical chest pain in the second week after infection by Covid-19, being diagnosed with Acute Coronary Syndrome and submitted to investigation of the condition, through complementary tests, which showed the presence of thrombi in the anterior descending artery and left ventricle, resulting in segmental dysfunction of the left ventricle. The patient was successfully treated with anticoagulation and angioplasty. Final considerations: Thromboembolic events during and after Covid-19 infection may exist, which emphasizes the need for investigation, prevention and treatment of these, to avoid complications in the clinical condition of patients affected by this disease. More robust studies are still needed to determine these prothrombotic mechanisms and the best therapy to be adopted.
