Abstract
Objective: To carry out a survey of scientific manuscripts regarding the clinical, laboratory and epidemiological evaluation of Chagas disease during the year 2020. Bibliographic review: Chagas disease (CD) represents a predominantly rural disease, with correlation to factors ecosystems, collective and governmental. The propagation is generated through an insect named Trypanosoma cruzi, presenting an inoculation phase ranging from 4 to 15 days, contaminated food around 3 to 22 days, and in the transmissibility by accidents around 20 days. During the year 2020, 146 cases of acute CD were confirmed in Brazil, of which 63.70% (83) were male and 36.30% (53) were female and 5.66% were pregnant (3), 85.62% (125) are brown, with a mean age of 33.80 and SD 18.27. Final considerations: It is imperative to promote and raise awareness of health education, as well as the monitoring of patients with CD. The constancy of investigations is impossible, particularly in elderly individuals who are in the chronic phase, taking into account the greater number of involvement in this age group.
