Abstract
Objective: To report the experience of health professionals in the management of skin lesions in a newborn with suspected Epidermolysis Bullosa. Experience report: This is an experience report, developed from March to April 2021 by professionals from a University Hospital in the South of Brazil. Data emerged from reports, observations, meetings, individual studies and external advice. Minimal handling of the newborn was performed. Priority was given to preventing the formation of new bubbles. The lesions were initially treated with topical antibiotics because they were infected, and then with dressings with mesh mesh impregnated with paraffin soaked in vaseline and covered with bandages and, later, with colloid lipid and covered by elastic tubular mesh. Attention was given to pain and family guidance for care. Final considerations: In order to assist the newborn with Epidermolysis Bullosa, an interdisciplinary, individualized and holistic care is necessary, with an emphasis on the treatment and prevention of bullous lesions, in addition, attention should be paid to pain and family support.
