Abstract

Objective: To describe the experience of nursing students in a school environment with the practice of conducting nursing consultations. Experience report: This is an experience report experienced by five Nursing students during a supervised internship at the Educational Center of the Federal District. The consultations were promoted, in May 2022, based on a systematic nursing consultation script produced by the professor and preceptor to direct the consultations. Subjects were approached dynamically, for a better understanding of children and youth students between 7 and 11 years old, such as: family structure and dynamics, housing, personal and family pathological antecedents, eating habits and oral hygiene, psychoactive substances, psychosocial stressful events, socioemotional, following the guidelines of the School Health Program (PSE). Final considerations: The experience in practice as a school nurse allows the understanding that the school represents a scenario of action and it is believed that through the exercise of School Nursing it is possible to rescue this branch and space for the nurse's performance, highlighting its importance for the health recommendations in a view of health promotion and the coverage of all segments of the school.
