Abstract

Objective: To relate the case of a patient who caused a bronchial asthma condition after the SARS-CoV-2 infection. Case details: The described case is about a female patient, non-smoker, non-diabetic, 55 years old, nurse, brown, without history of asthma. The patient presented symptoms to Covid-19 and was diagnosed on 06/20/2020. A month later of the symptoms, the patient demonstrated illness, fatigue and dry cough, making her looking for an Emergency Care Unit (ECU). Posteriorly, with the persistence and the intensity of symptoms, the patient sought a pulmonologist. Then the clinical evaluation, the imaging exams and spirometry, clinical diagnoses were excluded and Relvar 100/25 mcg per day was prescribed. However, It didn’t have an effect. The new episodes came with dyspnea. Promptly, there was a search for a second pulmonologist. In the clinical evaluation, it identified hisses on auscultation and soughted imaging exams. Thus, there was a clinical diagnosis of asthma. Therefore, the Relvar dose increased to 200/25 mcg with a satisfied therapeutic response. In this scenario, it was possible to evaluate the association between SARS-CoV-2 and asthma. Final considerations: This discussion is relevant to the scientific field due to absence of references in the literature about the asthma development by Covid-19 infection.
