Abstract
Objective: To investigate the scientific evidence on the comfort of patients in palliative care. Methods: This is an integrative literature review with data searches from May to June of this year in Pubmed, Scielo and Embase, published in the last five years. Results: 15 articles were found consistent with our objective. The studies describe palliative care as a therapeutic way to comfort the patient in the face of various pathologies such as chronic diseases, incurable diseases and cancer. They point out the main symptoms reported by patients and the palliative care offered and described as support since the diagnosis of the disease, including effective communication, pain relief, hydrotherapy, music therapy and spiritual satisfaction. Final considerations: There is a need to strengthen this care by health-patient-family professionals, seeking to improve patient care in palliative care, covering the patient's physical, psychological, social and spiritual spheres.
