Abstract

Objective: To investigate the incidence of the theme and studies on naturalistic strategies applied to autism, as well as the effectiveness and use of such an intervention. Methods: This is an integrative review in which three databases were selected, delimiting the searches to the period from 2010 to 2020, and research focus on materials that associate the themes of autism, applied behavior analysis (ABA) and naturalistic interventions. Results: The data indicated the effectiveness of such an intervention based on naturalistic strategies from a behavioral perspective, specifically regarding contributions to the development of language and social skills, allowing greater contact with natural stimuli of the child's context in the spectrum and social interactions, thus indicating, behavioral changes for certain cases of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Final considerations: Interventions in a naturalistic approach indicated satisfactory results regarding the clinical evolution and quality of life of children, thus, further studies in the area, whether theoretical or practical, can contribute to patients on the spectrum, as well as to professionals in the area.
