Abstract
Objective: To analyze the literature seeking to better understand the presence of cardiac arrhythmias in Post-Covid Syndrome. Bibliographic review: The prevalence of electrocardiographic changes in patients with Covid Longa has been high. The most found alteration was sinus tachycardia, which seems to be caused by two syndromes with similar mechanisms, which are Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia Syndrome. The pathophysiology appears to be the damage caused to the Autonomic Nervous System, through an autoimmune activation that occurs after viral infection. In addition, other arrhythmic events were found in these patients, such as the development of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias associated with viral myocarditis. Final considerations: Despite the high prevalence and burden on the affected population, there is a lack of scientific evidence that seeks to understand the arrhythmogenic mechanisms caused by SARS-CoV-2. In addition, it is extremely important to establish protocols that allow optimal screening of these patients as early as possible.
