Abstract

Objective: To estimate the prevalence of dermatoses in the dermatology service of a university outpatient clinic. Methods: Retrospective cross-sectional study, through the collection of the epidemiological profile of computerized medical records of patients treated at the dermatology service of an outpatient clinic of a higher education institution in a Brazilian capital, in the year 2020. Then, a comparative study of the prevalence obtained in three studies from 2014, 2018 and 2019 at the same institution. Results: The mean age of the patients was 48.7 years, with 114 (67,9%) female and 54 (32,1%) male. Regarding the prevalence of diagnoses in consultations attended, there is a significant diversity of results in which the most frequent groups of dermatoses are benign epithelial tumors and dyschromias, with percentages very close to 32.1% and 30.4%, respectively. In addition, there is the presence of some International Classifications of Diseases (ICD -10) not filled in and others filled in incorrectly, attributed to the high demand and the deficit system. Conclusion: Dermatoses makes up a significantly prevalent group of diseases, with some presenting more frequently depending on factors such as gender and age of the analyzed group. The recognition of these pathologies is essential due to their high prevalence and their studies should be encouraged.
