Abstract
Objective: Discuss the most effective use of antiplatelet aggregation after percutaneous coronary intervention. Methods: The methodological approach of this work proposes a compilation of bibliographic research with a qualitative approach and descriptive character through an integrative review of the literature in the PubMed and Virtual Health Library databases. The descriptors used were “Platelet Aggregation Inhibitors” and “Clopidogrel” and “Ticagrelor” and “Percutaneous Coronary Intervention”. Inclusion criteria were clinical trial, controlled clinical trial and randomized controlled trial, published in English, Portuguese and Spanish, between 2017 and August 2022. The drugs covered were clopidogrel, ticagrelor, aspirin and prasugrel. Results: There were a total of nine articles concluding a greater effectiveness of clopidogrel in relation to ticagrelor, and in only one ticagrelor was superior. In addition, the effectiveness of prasugrel in cases of major coronary adverse events was also seen compared to clopidogrel. Final considerations: Thus, it can be emphasized that ticagrelor is not the most effective drug to be used as a standard antiplatelet agent in PCI, as stated in the guideline, and should give way to clopidogrel, except in specific special cases, which may also very for the use of prasugrel.
