Abstract
Objective: To understand the general clinical aspects of Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) and its possible influences on the quality of life of patients with the disease. Bibliographic review: EB is a term used to designate a group of rare hereditary dermatological diseases, whose clinical pattern is the appearance of vesicles or blisters on the skin in response to minimal cutaneous trauma. EB is a disease that usually causes significant psychosocial effects in the lives of patients with the disease, with a correlation between the severity of the disease and psychological disorders, reinforcing the importance of careful dermatological follow-up. Non-cutaneous manifestations such as depression, anxiety and behavioral disorders should be considered. In addition, the multiprofessional team, family members and friends are fundamental allies in this context, as affection and compassion interfere in the improvement of the patient's psychological condition, which will provide greater confidence and adherence to the treatment. Final considerations: Thus, careful analysis of injured skin surfaces is essential to minimize the limitations and systemic changes caused, in order to promote better therapy and increase the effectiveness of care. In addition, it is necessary to stimulate self-esteem reconstruction strategies, driven by biopsychosocial changes, for the adequate coping of this health problem.
