Abstract

Objective: To carry out a literature review of the main pharmacological treatments in the pediatric area, focusing on the class of Neprisilin Inhibitors and angiotensin receptors, in order to expand scientific knowledge on the subject. Bibliographic review: The use of Sacubitril-Valsartan in Heart Failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction is considered a major advance in the treatment of adults as it reduces hospitalization, general and cardiovascular mortality and sudden death compared to standard therapy. On the other hand, its use in the pediatric class is still restricted due to the existence of few randomized studies on the subject, and the indication so far is individualized and multidisciplinary, shared with family members. Final considerations: It is expected that with the current determination of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), this medication can be more used in children and adolescents, bringing a reduction in morbidity and mortality and an improvement in the quality of life in this population.
