Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the relationship between sociodemographic factors with attitudes, prevention, and knowledge of individuals about Covid-19 in four regions of social vulnerability in Palmas, Tocantins. Methods: Cross-sectional and descriptive study with 351 volunteers in 2020. For analysis, we used the Microsoft Excel program associated with descriptive analysis, followed by the chi-square test with a significance level of 5%. Results: Among the interviewees, 53.2% cohabited or were considered a risk group, 69.8% received up to one minimum wage, 79.77% knew coronavirus and 90.31% knew prevention strategies. As for social isolation, 56.41% reported partial isolation, 20.5% total and 22.5% none. There was a significant association of social isolation between the risk group (p=0.0251) and monthly income (p=0.0016). Conclusion: A satisfactory level of knowledge was observed in relation to Covid-19 and control measures adopted, public policies around pandemics are essential for the adoption of strategic and effective preventive measures.
