Abstract

Objective: Analyze through a narrative review how sex differences in vaccine responses. Bibliographic review: The vaccine is used on a global scale in order to prevent serious cases of immunoinfectious diseases and guarantee a quality of life for the entire population. There are several types of vaccines that are effective against viral and bacterial pathologies offered in different health systems. Its benefit is proven in several studies and there are few adverse effects that can be generated after immunization. It is known that it can behave differently in different factors such as sex, age, special populations and genetic modulations that influence the ability to create an adequate immune response. Final considerations: Immune reactions to vaccines in women are more robust in some viral vaccines, and in some men they may manifest differently. Understanding the different reactions to vaccines between the sexes is of paramount importance for health professionals and future professionals, since there is a progressive increase in population fear and disbelief in relation to vaccines and their safety.
