Abstract

Objective: to identify in the scientific literature strategies used by the old people in coping with social isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic. Methods: integrative literature review developed from January to February 2022, in the Cochrane Library, Scielo, LILACS, MEDILNE, PubMed, Web Of Science and Wiley Online Library databases. The descriptors were used "Coronavirus Infections; Social Isolation; Aged; Adaptation, Psychological", with the Boolean operator "AND" to associate them. Articles published in all languages between 2020 and 2022, with full text available and open access, were considered eligible. The filtering process followed the PRISMA model. The results were analyzed in categories, according to Bardin's content analysis. Results: the search totaled 2.037 articles, eight articles were selected for the final sample, and three thematic categories were outlined: Digital social contact; Entertainment activities; Physical activity. Final considerations: the main strategies were related to the use of digital technologies, especially for those who were socially isolated from friends and family; and hobbies. Entertainment activities and the practice of exercises/personal care also helped mitigate the negative consequences of social isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic.
