Abstract
Objective: To know the main triggering factors of postpartum thyroiditis during pregnancy. Methods: It consists of a secondary study, with a quantitative approach, of the integrative literature review type, “Postpartum Thyroiditis” and “Pregnancy” were used to search for works in the Virtual Library databases. in Health (BVS) and Medical Publisher (PUBMED). Of the 138 articles found that passed the sieve of the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 12 studies were used in this research. Results: It was observed that most studies indicate the positivity of the TPOAb antibody as one of the main causes to trigger postpartum thyroiditis, followed by thyroid dysfunction, autoimmune diseases, nutritional deficiency of selenium and high levels of anti C1q during pregnancy. Final considerations: TPOAb antibody positivity during pregnancy is the main triggering factor for postpartum thyroiditis, however, more clinical studies on postpartum thyroiditis are needed to aid in the diagnosis. early care through prenatal screening, favoring adequate treatment and quality of life for women.
