Abstract
Objective: To conduct a literature review on the emergence of rheumatological diseases in patients diagnosed with Post-Covid Syndrome. Bibliographic Review: Post-Covid Syndrome is defined as the presence of signs and symptoms that develop during or after a SARS-CoV-2 infection and that persist for a period longer than 12 weeks. Its pathophysiology is not yet fully known, but it is known to be a multifactorial and complex condition that involves many areas of health. Rheumatology is also an area very affected by this syndrome, since the current literature shows that there are patients developing rheumatic diseases without any personal or family history. Among the studies found, reactive arthritis was the most prevalent rheumatic disease, followed by Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Final considerations: Post-Covid Syndrome is a multisystemic condition that can trigger rheumatologic diseases in previously healthy patients. Therefore, knowledge is needed not only of the syndrome, but of the numerous consequences that it can generate in different areas of medicine.
