Abstract
Objective: To highlight new treatments for fibromyalgia and, therefore, emphasize the use of cannabis as a medicinal agent for this pathology. Methods: This work is an integrative literature review in which articles were selected from the National Library of Medicine, Virtual Health Library and EBSCOHOST databases, through the Health Sciences Descriptors: Fibromyalgia AND Cannabidiol in order to answer: In fibromyalgia therapy, can cannabinoids be considered? Results: According to the 15 final articles selected for the composition of the article, 64.3% directly characterized the use of cannabinoids for the treatment of fibromyalgia. Therefore, cannabinoids were presented as a possible treatment for pain crises, in addition to other symptoms related to the pathology. However, the use of these medications requires monitoring for better effectiveness. Final considerations: The use of cannabinoids can be a great ally for the composition of the traditional treatment of fibromyalgia, and I am able to improve the arsenal available for this treatment.
