Abstract

Objective: To establish the relationship of acute renal failure (ARF) in patients with COVID-19, thus identifying its clinical, laboratory and nursing care aspects to improve patient care. Methods: This is an integrative review study to analyze the relationship of ARF in patients with COVID-19, based on: SciELO, LILACS, PubMed and Free Medical Journal, being designated by 15 articles after the selection cycle. Results: According to the analysis of the researched literature, the association of ARF with COVID-19 was obtained, through the parameters and markers that objectified this research, showing the significant increase in the prevalence of the aggravation and an unfavorable prognosis of the patient. Final considerations: Research is needed to broaden the debate on the process of ARF relationship in patients with COVID-19, on the aspects that lead to renal complications. As well as the role of nursing in the care process for the prevention and care of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI).
