Abstract
Objective: To report the experience of nursing academics into carrying out a professional update on nursing techniques in a public hospital in Porto Velho / RO. Experience report: This is an experience report, in the view of two nursing students of supervised discipline I, in the second semester of 2018, about the implementation and application of an Application Project (PA) that happened in one Public hospital of Porto Velho / RO that serves all types of emergencies and emergencies in the capital. The application project is a collective activity, developed in a small group focused on the construction of an intervention in reality. The approach of nursing practices with probes (with emphasis on enteral and bladder catheter care) was carried out; body hygiene (with emphasis on oral hygiene, competing cleaning and, especially, patient mobilization during bathing in the bed); medication administration (with emphasis on parenteral routes); oxygen therapy (with an emphasis on venturi mask and its correct flow); aspiration of the airways and nursing care with tracheostomy. Final considerations: It is necessary that nursing professionals keep up to date on their practices, as this will avoid iatrogenic actions and may provide safer assistance.
