Abstract
Objective: To analyze the effects of prone positioning on the clinical evolution of the COVID-19 patient, correlating evidence that ensures the maneuver, the patient's substantial improvement. Methods: Integrative review, with studies published between 2020 and 2022, in the following databases: Scielo, Academic Google, PubMed, Science Research, with the guiding question: “To what extent can the prone position influence the improvement of treatment in patients with Covid-19?". After reading and selecting, the course of the study was illustrated by a flowchart and chart exposing the main results. Results: In a previous analysis, the studies observed that the prone procedure is a maneuver planned for more than four decades, awakening in the scientific community, interest in researching its benefits and, mainly, the use of the maneuver in hospitalized patients with Covid-19. Final considerations: Although the results are accepted, there is still no consensus, on the part of the researched authors, about the maneuver and its indication as a resource for hospitalized patients with Covid-19. Thus, it will be necessary to move forward and seek evidence to then reach a consensus recommending the practice of the maneuver as a treatment method. Thus, it will be necessary to move forward and seek more evidence to then reach a consensus recommending the practice of the maneuver as a method of treatment for hospitalized patients with Covid-19.
