Abstract
Objective: To identify the impacts on the quality of life of young people with colostomies. Methods: An integrative literature review was carried out, through the collection of articles without language limitations, published between the years 2009 to 2022, through the SciELO, Lilacs/Ibecs, PubMed, BVS and UpToDate, so that all ethical aspects were considered to avoid plagiarism and copying. Results: Twelve studies were selected for data analysis and discussion according to the identified search and selection criteria. From this, it is possible to observe the limitations generated by the use of colostomy in young people that significantly affect their quality of life and the importance of knowledge and self-care. Final considerations: It is evident, therefore, the impacts that the use of the colostomy bag generates in the lives of patients, whether in the social, psychological, professional and sexual spheres. As well as the importance of the role of health professionals and the family in facing these difficulties.
