Abstract

Objective: Analyze the fear approach, through the International Taxonomy of nursing, with musical intervention in patients with COVID-19 in an Emergency Care Unit. Methods: Twenty-one nurses from the 24 who work in the UPA participated in the study. Patients with a medical diagnosis of COVID-19, aged 18 years or older, were selected. The interview was conducted and the use of music with ten patients. The song was chosen by the patient himself. Results: The nurses received an instrument containing the defining characteristics of the Nursing Diagnosis (NANDA-I) of Medo. It was observed that the physiological characteristics “dyspnea”, “increased blood pressure”, “increased heart rate” and “increased respiratory rate” presented a weighted mean between 0.50 and 0.77. It was found that the only behavioral/emotional characteristic "apprehension" was classified as higher because it presented a weighted average between 0.79 and 1. Conclusion: The results of this research may contribute to the adequate approach of Fear in patients with the medical diagnosis of COVID-19, providing, at the time of care to these patients, an also emotional approach.
