Abstract
Objective: Produce a bibliometric study with action research methodology articles in the health sciences area between 2018 and 2021. Methods: Bibliometric documentary study being the search for the works perfomed in the databases of PubMed, Scielo, LILACS, EMBASE and BVS during the month of September 2021. The mapping considered: profile of the productions, products and validation methods. Analysis was performed using R software and IRaMuTeQ 0.7. Results: 250 articles were eligible for full review, most of them developed in Brazil, United States and Australia, with an average of 51 participants. The main themes were “Health Education”, “Women's Health”, “Nursing” and “Mental Health”, and 35.2% originated products, of which, 34.9% were validated. The main validation process used expert judges. The main terms resulting from the qualitative analysis were “health”, “care”, “action research”, “community”, “study” and “nurse”. Conclusion: action research methodology is an appropriate tool to address the difficulties experienced by professionals and users of health systems from training to work until fields of practice.
