Abstract

Objective: To present the new recommendations for nursing in the operating room, during perioperative, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Integrative literature review, with articles published between 2019 and 2022, with full text available, in Portuguese, English or Spanish. The guiding question was: What are the new recommendations for nursing in the context of COVID-19 during the perioperative period? The bibliographical research was carried out in August 2022 in the LILACS, IBECS, BDENF, SciELO and MEDLINE databases using Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS): Surgical Center, COVID-19, Perioperative Nursing and Surgical Center Nursing. The descriptors were combined using the Boolean operators “AND” and “OR”. Results: A total of 1050 publications were found in the consulted databases, with the final sample comprising 12 articles. The study identified preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative prevention measures, highlighting the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment. Final considerations: The implementation of new routines in the Surgical Centers during the COVID-19 pandemic leads to safe care for the patient and the nursing team in the perioperative period.
