Abstract
Objective: To highlight the intrinsic nature of the nursing audit with the quality of care and registration. Methods: Study with a qualitative approach, using the Integrative Literature Review (RIL), where data collection was carried out between February and May 2022, on the Virtual Health Library (VHL) Portal, resulting in 11 articles that met the purpose of the search. Results: It was evident that the Nursing Audit is the systematic assessment of the quality of care provided to patients. The focus is currently on the quality of care, associating quantitative and qualitative values with cost reduction, based on nursing records. It is still necessary to propose solutions aimed at reducing unsafe and irregular practices in the patient care process, based on established protocols, scientific evidence and recommendations from Organs competent bodies. Final considerations: It is considered that the audit is a process of evaluating the quality of care provided, which is verified through nursing records, meeting the needs of patients
