Abstract

Objective: To describe the importance of immediate prosthesis on implants to improve the individual's quality of life. Bibliographic review: Restorations on implants consist of artificial teeth fixed to the implant pin, replacing one or more dental elements. In addition to the aesthetic part, it assists in mobility and speech, promoting quality of life for the individual. As far as the dental implant is concerned, the criteria for a sustainable and healthy soft tissue contour are a prosthesis that provides mechanical strength and remains aesthetically pleasing. The search for aesthetics in the rehabilitation of the edentulous ridge has become a challenge for dentists, in view of the progressive resorption of the alveolar bone, interfering with the aesthetic and functional result. Final considerations: The implant prosthesis is a safe, effective procedure that restores function and aesthetics, if indicated and performed correctly, however, it is necessary to inform patients of the advantages and disadvantages that the procedure has.
