Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the outcome of patients diagnosed with COVID-19, who started treatment for breast cancer between 03/18/20 to 07/31/21, in Northern Tocantins. Methods: The studied group was composed by patients diagnosed with COVID 19 and in treatment for breast cancer, regardless of the stage of treatment. This is a retrospective and descriptive study that took place between March 2020 and July 2021. The patients were questioned about the clinical course after being infected with SARS-CoV-2 and we evaluated the outcomes in this group of patients and correlated them with the stage of oncological treatment. Results: We observed that patients with COVID-19 in hormone therapy did not require hospitalization, while 50% of patients undergoing chemotherapy required hospitalization, however, none of the hospitalized women needed to be transferred to an ICU. Conclusion: Therefore we can conclude that the stage of cancer treatment interfered with morbidity, but did not alter the mortality of these women.
