Abstract

Objective: To analyze the knowledge regarding the covid-19 pandemic of university students and civil servants and associated factors. Methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive and quantitative research. Data collection took place from December 2021 to March 2022, with 421 students and university employees, using an online questionnaire. Data storage and data analysis were performed using SPSS® software version 21.0. Subsequently, univariate analysis was performed to assess the factors associated with knowledge related to covid-19, using the Kruskall-Wallis or Mann-Whitney tests. Results: Older people, married or in a stable relationship, with a high level of education and higher family income, have a higher level of knowledge, as they use reliable research sources and recognize their own vulnerability and that of their close relatives to infection by the new coronavirus; people who do not have any type of comorbidity or specific risk condition have a lower level of knowledge, which may favor their exposure and infection to the new coronavirus. Conclusion: This research is expected to contribute to the planning and implementation of new public policies and disease prevention strategies in educational institutions and in their respective local communities.
