Abstract
Objective: Identify, in the scientific literature, the quality indicators for monitoring the clinical service provided by a pharmacist to patients with diabetes mellitus, in the context of primary health care. Methods: Integrative review, searching for scientific articles in five health databases: PubMed, SCOPUS, Web of Science, CINAHL and LILACS. In the end, the sample consisted of 11 surveys. The analysis and synthesis of the data occurred in a descriptive way and through figures and charts. Results: 23 indicators were identified, classified according to the subject (appointments, monitoring exams, interventions, prescriptions, service, adherence to treatment, clinical and nutritional improvement). The indicators were also organized according to type: structure, process and results. The studies show the relationship between quality indicators and their clinical and humanistic content, as well as the application of indicators that made it possible to measure the service as well as control chronic diseases and improve clinical-therapeutic results. Final considerations: Conducting this review generated a body of evidence that reinforces the importance of clinical pharmacy and its quality indicators for the control of diabetes mellitus in patients treated in primary health care.
