Abstract

Objective: To identify the challenges and needs of autistic people, entering into the possibilities of interventions to improve the labor market. Methods: Integrative review, in Portuguese and English, predominantly in English, researched in the electronic databases Virtual Health Library (BVS), PUBMED and SciELO, prepared from March to May 2023. Results: The analysis was carried out on a total of 13 selected articles, indicating that the observation of disability in the labor market as the key characteristic of the person with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is the most present factor in the articles. Final considerations: Most of the studies contain projects and proposals to make the entry and permanence of people with ASD in the labor market something more equal and that there are still difficulties such as the lack of interest on the part of the team in training to accommodate someone different, the restrictions that the autistic person has in relation to coexistence and the failure to train this workforce in view of their particularities.
