Abstract

Objective: Apply and evaluate a teaching strategy based on realistic simulation of a clinical case in the curricular activity Andy Health I. Methods: Qualitative and quantitative, carried out with 29 students from the 6th semester of the nursing course at a Faculty of Belém-PA, from March to May 2022. Data collection was based on a realistic simulation, with a clinical case of acute myocardial infarction. Myocardial infarction, after the debriefing, a questionnaire with open questions was applied. For the analysis we opted for the content analysis of Bardin and other authors. Results: The students’ participation, the achievement of the objectives proposed by the simulation and the good performance in the discussion of the clinical case, represented the positive impact of the methodology on teaching and learning. Conclusion: Realistic simulation as an active methodology had a positive impact on the teaching-learning process in the Adult Health I course, as it allowed for a closer relationship between theory and practice, providing experiences that brought reality closer, favoring an environment of interactivity among the participants. The students participated as actors and audience; we used low-fidelity simulators developed by the researchers because the faculty did not have them.
