Abstract
Objective: This article offers a theoretical support on the topic ''civil liability of the physician'' in a context of possible complications in cosmetic procedures, so that suitable preventive measures may be taken in order to protect their integrity and the integrity of the patient. Method: Review in medical databases as well as juridicial literature knowledge about the medical liability attributed to aesthetic damage. Results: The modern techniques of rejuvenation are important therapeutic approaches in cosmetic dermatology, being widely used today. At the same time, the number of actions involving medical error increases, since the patient is increasingly aware of his rights and duties. The aesthetic damage may be accompanied by moral damage, which generates doubly medical responsibility. If it is proven that such complication arose from negligence, recklessness or clumsiness, the principles of civil liability are restored, and the professional may be subject to a later temporary removal from his office as well as payment of indemnity. Final considerations: The physician should individualize his treatment choices and technique used, in order to prevent complications and avoid situations for which the patient may file lawsuits against them.
