Abstract

Objective: To carry out an integrative review of the literature on the role of nursing in the face of obstetric violence. Methods: Integrative literature review with the issue: How can nursing act in cases of obstetric violence? Data collection carried out in VHL databases; MEDLINE; Scopus, in July 2022, with articles in Portuguese and English, with full and free access. The findings were grouped into thematic categories with knowledge review/synthesis. Results: The sample consisted of eight articles published between January 2017 and July 2022, showing high rates of obstetric violence, professional disqualification, and the performance of nurses during the pregnancy-puerperal cycle, offering women violence prevention and care humanized. Final considerations: Nursing must act in the prevention of obstetric violence, preparing the health team and increasing knowledge on the subject, so that professionals feel able to prevent obstetric violence.
