Abstract

Objective: To identify in the scientific literature the factors related to the psychic suffering of elementary school students that were evidenced in the period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This is an Integrative Literature Review through consultation in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) portal, specifically in the LILACS and MEDLINE databases, in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and PubMed, carried out between November 2022 to May 2023. Results: The study presents two thematic cores, one being the Mental Health of students and the impacts brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, in which the factors that potentiated the suffering and the consequences on mental health were evidenced and another thematic nucleus that showed the specificities and challenges of the relationship between education and health in the reception of psychic suffering. Final considerations: The study revealed the need to strengthen the intersectoral network and the School Health Program (PSE). Finally, the research also showed the need for more in-depth studies that discuss the reception of psychic suffering in the post-pandemic.
