Abstract
Objective: Analyze the completeness of Death Certificates (DC) for 2018, 2019 e 2020 in a inner city of São Paulo state, Brazil. Methods: A cross-sectional and retrospective study was carried out and the filling out of 412 death certificates was analyzed. Were selected the most important epidemiologically variables. Results: During the studied period, in infant and fetal death certificates the SUS card was not filled out in 99% of declarations, age in 46,8% of the total number of certificates, the variables “gestacional weeks” we’re in 14,2%, “type of childbirth” in 15,2%, birth weight in 16,2%, “death in relation to childbirth” 16,7%. In the certificates of women of childbearing age, the information was inadequate in 88.5% of the data referring to the SUS card, 6.7% in race/color, deaths of women of childbearing age in 75%, and the responsible physician in 14%. Conclusion: It is evident the incorrect and incomplete filling of declarations is an old problem and shows the importance of raising awareness among students and enable them to fill it out correctly during their academic education.
