Abstract

Objective: To identify evidence on infectious events in vascular accesses of patients undergoing dialysis treatment. Methods: Integrative Literature Review (RIL) with search in the databases: Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), PubMed and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), with publications in Portuguese and English, from February to March 2023, guided by the PICO strategy, with the descriptors organized as follows: P - Renal Dialysis OR Renal Replacement Therapy; I – vascular access OR Vascular Access devices OR double lumen catheter; C – not applicable; O – infection OR catheter-related infections. Results: Eight articles were selected that made up the final sample, which were listed, organized and analyzed according to an instrument, containing: author, year of publication, type of study, level of evidence and general considerations highlighting the objective and final considerations. Final considerations: It is believed that this research can contribute to support the care of patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis treatment. Evidence-based health care becomes safe in the prevention of infectious events in vascular accesses of patients undergoing Renal Replacement Therapy in the hemodialysis modality.
