Abstract
Objective: To assess the possibilities for simulation scenario validation in health education available in the literature. Examine the differences among scenario validation strategies. Methods: A literature review was conducted by searching articles from databases such as PubMed Central, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), and the Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information (LILACS) in March 2023, aiming to answer the question "What is the most suitable method for validating simulation scenarios?" Articles were searched using keywords, resulting in the identification of 353 articles, from which 8 relevant articles were meticulously selected. Results: While the reviewed studies provided valuable insights into methods for validating simulation scenarios in healthcare, some limitations should be considered, such as the small number of identified articles. The validation of scenarios might be influenced by the quantity and availability of judges for evaluation. Final considerations: This integrative review study identified options for the validation of realistic simulation scenarios in health education. Conducting more validation studies by educators and researchers will allow for improvements in the use of realistic simulation scenarios and an enhancement in the training of healthcare professionals.
