Abstract

Objective: To emphasize the clinical management of patients with Munchausen Syndrome from a nursing perspective. Methods: An integrative review was conducted using the databases Google Scholar, Lilacs, Pubmed, Scielo, Web of Science and embase. Results: 8 studies were selected to compose the review, in English, Portuguese and Spanish, of which more than 50% were carried out in Brazil. Regarding the professional category of the authors, considering only the first author of each production, two areas of health stood out: nursing and medicine. The analysis revealed a significant gap regarding the management of people with the disorder, despite the increase in the number of studies on this aspect in the scientific community and in the media in general. Final considerations: Munchausen Syndrome continues to be a disorder with considerable challenges in both the diagnosis and management of its sufferers. In this context, health professionals must work in a multidisciplinary way, offering empathetic care and comfort to the individual.
