Abstract
Objective: Describe nutritional therapies and their main impacts on the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Methods: This is an integrative review, with a bibliographic survey conducted from January 2013 to July 2023 in the databases: Virtual Health Library (VHL) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), using the Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS) Autism, Nutritional Therapy, and Nutrition, with the Boolean operator "And." Articles published in Portuguese, English, and Spanish were included, with full texts available, and published within the respective ten years. Results: In total, 12 studies met the established inclusion criteria, making it possible to describe the impact of nutritional therapies on children with ASD and various methodologies and strategies employed to significantly improve the development of these patients through nutritional therapies. Final considerations: Although nutritional therapies demonstrate various impacts and positive results in the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder, it is evident that more studies are needed to enhance the effectiveness of nutritional strategies and develop new ones, aiming to improve the quality of life of these individuals and their families.
