Abstract
Objective: To identify the physical, psychological, social and spiritual human dimensions expressed by clinical indicators of nursing diagnoses. Methods: Integrative literature review, carried out between December 2022 and January 2023, in databases Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Scopus, Excerpta Medica Database and PubMed, with combination equations of the keywords “nursing diagnoses”, “clinical indicators”, “validation studies”, “data accuracy” and “realiability”. Results: In the 19 articles included in the survey, 266 clinical indicators were identified in 21 nursing diagnoses. Nine diagnoses included, exclusively, indicators of the physical dimension and one, of the psychological dimension; six diagnoses included indicators of the physical and psychological dimensions; nine diagnoses included combinations of two or more dimensions; only the diagnosis “dysfunctional family processes related to alcohol abuse” included indicators of all dimensions. The spiritual dimension was represented by an indicator. Conclusion: The diffusion of the biomedical model led to its incorporation by health services and, consequently, by nursing. Although mastering knowledge related to physiological needs favors the care of the human body, it is clear that nursing must identify indicators of other human dimensions in order to provide and record holistic care.
