Abstract

Objective: To develop and validate a questionnaire to evaluate the knowledge of dental surgeons (DS) on the morpho functional treatment of the face. Methods: Methodological study based on a literature review for the elaboration of a questionnaire validated by a committee of 11 judges and submitted to a pilot test with 24 DS. Results: Elaborated with 20 questions, addressing the participant's profile, knowledge about the morpho functional approach of the face and interest in conducting an update course on the subject, the questionnaire obtained excellent agreement between the judges after the 3rd. round (Gwet´s Agreement Coefficient AC2 of 0.974, with 95%CI between 0.957 and 0.992 and p-value<0.001), being then validated with content validity index (CVI) above 0.90 (90%) and content validity ratio (CVR) above 0.80 (80%). The pilot test with DS showed the comprehensiveness of all items. Conclusion: The questionnaire presents evidence of validity, proving to be appropriate to evaluate the knowledge of DS about the functional and aesthetic treatment of the face.
