Abstract

Objective: To identify in the literature the knowledge and training of nurses and nursing students to care for women who are victims of domestic violence. Methods: Integrative literature review, carried out from September to October 2023, using the PICOT strategy and the PRISMA method; the search was carried out in the VHL and PUBMED databases, using the descriptors DeCS to constitute the search expression. Results: The final sample consisted of 18 articles, from which five thematic categories were obtained, namely: Insufficient preparation of professionals, Insufficient organizational structures and processes, Need for adequate teaching and/or training, Limited understanding of the theme, and Prepared nurses with adequate resources. Final considerations: The present study evidenced in the literature a deficit on the part of professionals and undergraduates with regard to knowledge related to victim care, which reinforces the relevance of addressing this theme, in order to enable the professional to provide the best care to the victim, in addition to enabling health services to recognize risk factors and previously identify a picture of domestic violence.
