Abstract
Objective: To identify in the scientific literature the potential and challenges of business entrepreneurship in nursing. Methods: An integrative review based on the acronym Population, Content and Context (PCC) was carried out in July 2023 in eight databases, using the descriptors entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs, nursing, nurse. The articles included were those available in full and related to the aim of the study, which had nurse entrepreneurs as the population, published in any language and the exclusion criteria were review articles, theses and dissertations, resulting in 16 final articles. The data was analyzed using Iramuteq® software. Results: Three final classes were formed, representing the potential and challenges for business entrepreneurship in nursing: ethics and its entrepreneurial potential; challenges for nurse entrepreneurs in managing their businesses; and innovation and entrepreneurship in nursing. Final considerations: during the entrepreneurial process in nursing there are potentialities and challenges, so there is a need to innovate, create, think strategically, and also recognize when the venture is no longer giving a financial return.
