Abstract

Objective: to highlight remarkable experiences of nurses working in the Family Health Strategy in times of a pandemic. Methods: a descriptive and exploratory study, with a qualitative approach, carried out from October 2022 to March 2023, with 12 nurses working in the ESF, who developed their professional activities during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, in a municipality in the extreme north of Brazil. A semi-structured interview was carried out, and the narratives were submitted to Content Analysis supported by the IRAMUTEQ software. Results: the segmentation of classes structured by the software ensured the deduction of three categories: impacts experienced during the pandemic, vulnerabilities in care, and repercussions of the pandemic on personal and professional life. Conclusion:  The present study brought to the forefront memories that left a mark on ESF nurses during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The accounts allowed for the expression of the experiences lived, ensuring the recording of their memories within a specific time frame. Fear, insecurity, stress, anxiety, exhaustion, and sadness were all part of a tragic scenario, serving as a reminder to everyone that protective and preventive measures should not be discontinued.
