Abstract

Objective: To share the experience about PHC strategies in controlling/monitoring the new coronavirus pandemic through the implementation of Service Centers (CA). Experience report: The implementation of the CA was directed by nurses from the municipal health management. The location of the CA was defined based on the analysis of epidemiological bulletins. The service flow carried out was based on fast track, enabling greater agility in service, mitigating waiting lines, crowds and avoiding contagion between patients. User service was provided comprehensively by a multidisciplinary team. The CAs were intended to treat mild and moderate cases of COVID-19, offering laboratory examination and rapid test or RT-PCR services; referrals for imaging exams; observation and administration of medication and transfer of users with signs of severity. Considering the occurrence of sequelae of symptoms resulting from COVID-19, a Care Line was implemented with the aim of enabling continuity of care. Final considerations: The implementation of CA to COVID-19 significantly interfered in the organization of PHC to face the pandemic. The experience proved to be successful as it demonstrated the rapid response of PHC, maintaining the integrity of health actions.
