Abstract

Objective: To highlight the perspective and experience of medical students on the construction of the doctor-patient relationship (PMR) in Emergency Room care and suggest improvements. Experience report: Medical students face different realities in different spheres proposed by the university environment. Places suitable for assisting in medical training and forming critical opinions on different situations. It is noted that in the Emergency Room environment, intrinsic and extrinsic factors directly interfere with the quality of medical care. It appears that the hostility present in some consultations negatively affects one of the main bases for the construction of the RMP and, as a result, can generate inappropriate outcomes. Therefore, it is essential to identify obstacles and reduce them for a more adequate and satisfactory care and outcome. Final considerations: Communication skills are essential for creating a bond with the patient in such a unique moment. Therefore, the professional must ensure to contribute positively to RMP and mitigate negative factors, in order to guarantee the appropriate result.
